LOJAS- Lokpriya Janhit Sewa Sansthan is a registered voluntary development organization established in 1997 under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Its registered in Lalganj (Ajhara), District Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. LOJAS is dedicated to fostering people-centered development in rural and urban communities. Guided by a vision of a just society free from exploitation, hunger, illiteracy, and unemployment. LOJAS works to empower marginalized groups, including Dalits, women, children, the poor, and the elderly. Founded by a group of professionals, including advocates, doctors, professors, and social workers, LOJAS believes in participatory approaches to development. The organization focuses on mobilizing deprived communities by educating them and equipping them with the knowledge and tools to achieve social, economic, and political empowerment. To educate, organize and empower the poor, dalits, women and children who would in future act as a catalyst in promoting gender quality, justice, economic growth and self-reliance.

ACHIEVED GOALS

Our Ngo Lokpriya Janhit Seva Sansthan (LOJAS) has achieved several milestones that reflect its deep commitment to women's health, youth empowerment, community awareness, and environmental protection across 30 Gram Panchayats in Pratapgarh.

  1. Children's Health & Nutrition: 70% of children are now linked to Anganwadi Centres, and 90% of them regularly receive supplementary nutrition (THR).

  2. Adolescent Health: All 2501 adolescent girls were screened for anaemia twice yearly. 61% of anaemic girls were counselled, 113 were treated, and all received Iron-Folic Acid tablets.

  3. Sanitation & Hygiene: Due to the demand raised by Nari Sangh, 226 toilets were constructed out of the 332 requested.

  4. Adolescent Engagement: Monthly adolescent meetings are regularly conducted, with 60-70% participation. These meetings built leadership and hygiene awareness.

  5. Maternal Health: 97% of pregnant women had safe deliveries at government hospitals. 225 high-risk pregnancies were treated successfully, and 2 were even guided out of the high-risk category.

  6. Family Planning: 60% of eligible couples adopted temporary methods for the first time.

  7. Malnutrition: All 670 malnourished adolescent girls were referred for treatment and are now healthy.

  8. VHNDs Strengthened: All 55 health days were conducted as per standards, contributing to a 70% reduction in maternal mortality (MMR).

  9. Environmental Protection: 9000 fruit and shade trees were planted across 20 villages.

  10. Grassroots Advocacy: Nari Sangh led open budget meetings in Gram Sabhas and actively voiced women's concerns.

  11. Legal Awareness: With help from the District Legal Services Authority, LOJAS organized legal awareness camps attended by judges, SDMs, and other officials.

  12. Employment under MNREGA: 981 women applied for jobs; 833 received work for over 41 days.

  13. Grievance Redressal: Nari Sangh leaders raised issues in Tehsil and Thana Diwas, successfully resolving 93 complaints and 4 domestic violence cases.

  14. Access to Welfare Schemes: Hundreds benefitted 221 widow pensions, 441 old-age pensions, 265 girls under Kanya Sumangal, and more through IFMS transfers.

  15. Issue-Based Meetings: Regular meetings were held on MNREGA, RTI, ration, domestic violence, dowry, and other pressing social issues.
